Know these cold
- Network attacks: DDoS (flood of traffic), DoS (single-source), ARP poisoning (MitM via fake ARP), DNS poisoning (redirect via fake DNS), VLAN hopping (bypass VLAN isolation), replay (captured packet retransmission).
- Wireless attacks: evil twin (rogue AP same SSID), deauthentication flood (force reconnect to capture handshake), WPA2 cracking (offline dictionary on captured PMKID), bluejacking (unsolicited BT message), bluesnarfing (BT data theft).
- Packet capture (Wireshark): captures cleartext traffic — encrypted protocols (HTTPS, SSH) are protected; HTTP, Telnet, FTP are not.
