Know these cold

  1. Network attacks: DDoS (flood of traffic), DoS (single-source), ARP poisoning (MitM via fake ARP), DNS poisoning (redirect via fake DNS), VLAN hopping (bypass VLAN isolation), replay (captured packet retransmission).
  2. Wireless attacks: evil twin (rogue AP same SSID), deauthentication flood (force reconnect to capture handshake), WPA2 cracking (offline dictionary on captured PMKID), bluejacking (unsolicited BT message), bluesnarfing (BT data theft).
  3. Packet capture (Wireshark): captures cleartext traffic — encrypted protocols (HTTPS, SSH) are protected; HTTP, Telnet, FTP are not.
